I've just supported Chris on the RED NOSE CLIMB

I've just sponsered Chris Moyles for Red Nose Day. :)

I love love love this guy and his awesome radio show. I've been listening to him every morning for ages now. The mornings are not the same without him. So I've donated money to Red Nose day for him climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with a bunch of other celebs.

I know times are tough and all that but I felt that it was right to give a few pounds for this really good cause. I'm not doing anything else for Red Nose day so at least I have contributed in some small way. It was really easy to do and if you want to support Chris (or one of the other celebs) check out the radio one home page or try this link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chrismoyles/red_nose_climb_09.shtml

... to support chris.

This is the whole reason why my pic is a red square at the mo. It started on twitter as a kinda "sticker" idea to encourage others to donate. I've put it here on my blog too. :)

A truly awful monday

I had a horrible, stressful, busy day. I had moaned about this to whoever will listen. I have ranted A LOT. However, I feel that I have got most of the anger/stress/rantingness/moaning/complaining bitterly..... out of my system now. Lucky for you guys reading this eh? :) So now I can give you the lovely calm and relaxed insight of what I learnt today....
What did I learn this monday:
1. Not providing sufficient information before an event can cause major panic and chaos. But brought out my quick-thinking skills (they were better than I thought). :)
2. Some people are totally unaware that the people they are talking to have other places they need to be.
3. Taxis are very, very, very useful in event of emergency/panic/change of plans
4. Primary 7 kids know a lot about toothbrushing
5. How it feels to ride in a 4x4.
6. My make-up can last quite well from 7am-7pm
7. Some things will always be a waste of time.
Im going to bed and hoping that tomo will be a better day. :)

Fave Lip products at the moment

So I just thought I'd share with you my two fave lip products at the moment. I've been loving these two for quite a while now.

1. Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. This stuff is freaking aaaawesome. lol I really can't convey how great I think this stuff is. I've tried a lot of lip balms and this is one is by far the best for me. Why? well.....

a) Very moisturising without being greasy
b) Protects my lips from the elements (in my case the cold and wind and icy icyness)
c) Smells good - fresh and minty
d) Lovely tingly feeling on application.

I love this stuff soooo much. I always have to have it with me. ALWAYS.

2. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Pink Crystals. This is my fave lipgloss. Its a lovely colour on me - pinky nude with sparkles. Also very importantly it does not dry out my lips like some products do. To top it all off it smells good too. Difficult to describe though. Quite sweet, but not sickly.

Well there you go.

I have just painted my toenails bright pink. Barry M shocking pink to be precise. Im fed up of dark colours -black, grey etc etc. I feel the need for colour.

p.s. here are some awful pics of those products:

What did I learn this thursday?

Im really enjoying doing these random posts. It lets me rant about any bad parts of my day in a rather odd/interesting way. And tell you any good stuff too. They might be very dull but I don't really care because I find it very therapeutic. lol

What did I learn today?
1. Cancelling lectures at the last minute after you have travelled all the way to uni is NOT cool.
2. Its fun watching people play with cool, shiny new machines. They get so excited. :)
3. Barry M dazzle dust in no. 53 is awesome for a neutralish, browny smokey eye look.
4. The need for spring clothes shopping grows stronger every day.

So spring is officially here. Saw quite a number of ladies with their bare legs out today. Not that remarkable I hear you say. Fair do's but then again it is Scotland and it is only Febuary. I've still got my coat and scarf on. lol

love love. more laters. :) xxx

What did I learn today?

I must confess that I have learnt slightly less today. :( It was by far a rather uneventful day.

What I learnt today......
1. Prompt email replies are good.
2. The tea tree soap from the body shop is working wonders on my face. So much better for me than the clinique facial soap (and so much cheaper).
3. There is never enough information available on the topic you are researching. Why is this?
4. Spring is coming. I saw lots of pretty snowdrops and daffodils starting to come up. :)

Thats about it.... but I'll be posting my very own "What I'm using right now" post soon thanks to the lovely llyangel tagging me. Thanks huni. :)

What I learnt today...

So a rather grey tuesday today. But what did I learn today?

1. Organisation is important. Especially if other people are relying on you. Get with this.
2. Day off school for kids = city full of kids. Everywhere.
3. Benefit's High Beam applied slighty more liberally is gorgeous.
4. I have 4ish weeks to get a Ball dress = argh!

:) What did you learn today?

What's Hot and what's Not.

I love reading people's blogs on here. Its wonderfully therapeutic and interesting at the same time. One of the things I see people doing is posts about what they feel is "in" and "out" at the moment in their lives and just generally. So I'm going to copy them. lol Yup. I admit it. Please dont be mad. *looks worried* Remember copying someone is really a huge compliment. :) I love the people that do these "in and out" posts and they have inspired me to do the same. :)

What's Hot:
-my ipod touch for surfing the net randomly using wi-fi
-the gym for pounding the treadmill
-Nivea Soft moisturiser

What's Not:
-the silly amount of uni work
-being in uni till 6pm tomo. :(

Haul and review

Apologies for this being ridiculously late. Life got in the way and all that. lol. So I finally, went to benefit after week of looking at their stuff. I used to use a few benefit products on a daily basis and hadn't bought anything new from them for a while until...

....1) You Rebel. This is basically a tinted moisturiser. (Its also available in a lighter shade) It was £19.50 for 50ml. I wanted to try this for days when I don't want to wear foundation and be caked in make-up but still have some kind of coverage to attempt to even out my skin. It also appealed because its oil-free. Also has SPF 15 so great for summer. (Or all year around if you are lucky enough to live in a sunny place. lol)
....And....
.....2) High beam. This is one of benefit's highlighters. It comes in a bottle with brush that makes the whole thing look like nail polish, which I know that some people don't/won't like but personally I dont mind it. My friend has this and benefit's other highlighter moonbeam, and seems to reli like them. I loved the idea of it and I havn't been disappointed. :)

So what do I think of my two new products. Its now been so shamefully long since I got them that Im now able to offer you some kind of opinion. :)

1)You Rebel. I think I like it. Its not wow. And it certainly does not solve all of my face/complexion issues, but then again I didnt think it would. It does provide a nice light coverage and even out my skin tone a bit. However, it doesnt blend as well as I thought it would. I think it will be good for when I go on holiday and its too hot for foundation.

2)High Beam. Love it. Easy to use. Quick. Pretty effect. Love it. So thats that. :)

I also got some of M.A.C's Blot Powder but thats not very exciting. I do LOVE that product though. It goes everywhere with me. :)

Enough rambling for now...

Update on haul products

Just thought I'd post an update on the products I bought the other day. The horrible dryness on my arms is beginning to clear up thanks to the Nivea Intensive Moisturising Cream. Admittedly, I'm also using a bit of cream I got from my doc a while back thats good for dry skin too. Loving the nivea as a hand moisturiser too. I'm thinking about picking up another tube one so that I can carry it about in my handbag.

As for the T-Zone Body Spray all is going well. Still not been using it that long but I'm really happy with the way its going. My chest is looking much clearer - no spots or breakouts. And to be honest I think there would of been by now if I hadn't been using it. Difficult to report any improvement on my back. The only thing I would say is that it seems to prevent spots and help maintain clearer skin but it doesn't seem to help get rid spots that are already there. I'm using it twice a day after a shower. Anyone else tried this?

I went to MAC yesterday afternoon very briefly. Was pretty busy at my local counter. I looked, well more glanced, at the BBR collection. It looked very dull. I just picked up some MAC powder and got out quick. I then headed to the benefit counter at a Boots store and got two goodies. :) More about that in my next post. I need to take picys in all that jazz. ;)

I'm going to a beach party next week so I'm thinking about my make-up and outfit for that. I'll show you what I come up with. Oh its a beach party in a club btw. I dont live anywhere near an actual beach unfortunately. And yes it is going to be freezing. So not my idea. :p

Oh random thought. I have a strange longing to try out the MAC creamsheen lipglosses. Ive read loads of reviews about them. Good and bad ones. Still I kinda want to try them.

Thats all for now. :)

Mini haul

So I was wandering about town yesterday afternoon and picked up three things from the drugstore (semi-chem). I have been debating about moisturisers for a ridiculous amount of time (looking for the perfect consistency and a pretty smell) but I gave in to an old favourite after seeing that I would get an extra 50% free! :)

Here it is: Nivea Soft Intensive Moisturising Cream. I first tried this after Fafinettex3 mentioned it in one of her YouTube vids. I initially bought it in a tube and used it as a face moisturiser. But this time I'm going to use it all over. :) I'm having dry skin issues on my arms and elbows with all this cold weather and leaning on desks. lol

Next purchase was this:

Quickies Nail Varnish Remover Pads. Not tried these before but they were cheap. 80-somthing pence. Admittedly a bottle of nail polish remover is probably better value but I like the fact that you don't get that horrible smell with pads. :)

Finally, my impulse buy....

T-Zone Clear Por Body Spray. I saw this while waiting in the queue to pay. Only £1.99 if I remember correctly. Never seen anything like this before so I thought I'd give it a go. Its antibacterial and you spray it on your chest, shoulders, back etc to prevent spots. I've only used it twice so far but only good things to report back so far.

1. It sprays upside down. No matter what the angulation of the bottle it still delivers a fine mist of product.

2. It smells ok. Not amazing. But not horrible. And its only very very very subtle.

3. Doesn't leave my skin feeling unpleasant in any way.

I'll report back on (hopefully) spot reduction soon.

Anyone else tried it?

Just getting started.

My first ever post. How exciting. Here's a couple of random facts about me:
1. I LOVE make-up. (using it, buying it, reading about it...blah blah blah)
2. I'm a student
3. I live in the UK
4. I'm easily distracted and very new to this whole blogging thingy.

What I intend to write about here... well mainly about make-up and shopping and all other things girly.
I hope to offer my humble opinion to anyone kind enough to read it about my beauty and cosmetic purchases. :)

p.s. I'll take this early opportunity to warn you of some perhaps rather dubious spellings....Sorry in advance. :P
